This pendant is a copy of the traditional "Thali" or mangalsutra worn by married women from Coorg in Karnataka ; it has a traditional round shape with a serpent at the helm and the image of goddess Lakshmi at the center. It is fixed on a chain made up of gold-dipped, Sterling Silver (92.5%) beads called Mohanmale which is a traditional centuries old ornament worn by women in south India.The beads have a unique floral design and are handwoven in silver wire and dipped in 24 karat gold.
