One of the most striking features of `nakkasi' jewellery is that the gods/figures depicted seem to have a life-like quality. In this ornate nakkasi pendant the image of Goddess Lakshmi flanked by two Yalis (mythical creatures ,part lion, part elephant and part horse ; a motif used widely in temple architecture and jewellery) is reproduced in rare detail, in three dimensional repousse. An ornate necklace with an irresistible antique charm, this is sure to become a heirloom.
The pendant is hung on a two layered string of silver beads that are handwoven in silver wire. Crafted using techniques used in ancient South Indian antique gold temple jewellery the entire piece is crafted in pure Sterling silver(92.5%) and oxidised.
